Auf einer flachen, am oberen Rand doppelt geschweiften Tafel sind in Längsrichtung vier waagerecht angeordnete paralelle Linien aufgetragen. Diese verkörpern die römischen Ziffern 1, 10, 100 und 1000, wobei die Linie "1000! durch ein liegendes Kreuz gekennzeichnet wird. Die Räume zwischen den Linien besitzen den halben Wert, stellen also die Ziffern 5, 50, 500 dar.
