Description

Der Lebensraum des Schabrackentapirs befindet sich in Südostasien. Mit einer Schulterhöhe von über einem Meter und einem Gewicht bis zu 400 Kilogramm, ist das Schabrackentapir die größte heutzutage lebende Tapirart.
Präpariert wurde dieses Tier von dem Niederländer Hermanus Hendricus, auch Ter Meer genannt. Er lebte von 1871-1934 und erschuf in seinem Leben zahlreiche Wirbeltierpräparate.
