Das Foto zeigt das von den Nationalsozialisten im Grimmaer Stadtwald errichtete Ehrenmal für Herbert Norkus, dessen Weihe am 8. Juni 1935 stattfand. Die Grundsteinlegung erfolgte bereits 1934. Aus einem Quaderblock ragt ein ca. 10 Meter hohes Schwert mit Hakenkreuz hervor. Vor dem Denkmal sind Mitglieder der HJ (Hitlerjugend) und des BDM (Bund deutscher Mädel) zu sehen. Herbert Norkus war Mitglied der Hitlerjungend. Er wurde 4.1.1932 bei einer Propaganda-Aktion von Kommunisten getötet und danach von den Nazis zum Helden stilisiert. Er wurde als „Vorbild für den kämpferischen Einsatz der Hitler-Jugend“ dargestellt.
