Description

Dieses garbenförmige, büschelnde Mineral bildet einen Perlmuttglanz auf seinen Spaltflächen. Es entsteht innerhalb eines niedrig temperierten hydrothermal-Bereichs in Hohlräumen oder Klüften in Basalt, Andesit oder auch im metamorphischen Gestein. Abgesehen von seiner Bedeutung als Sammlermineral, hat Desmin kaum eine technisch relevante Verwendung.
