Description

Die viereckige Apothekenflasche aus transparentem Glas hat eine gerundete Schulter mit weiter Mündung. Darin sitzt ein Schliffstopfen, der durch einen Metallschnappverschluss fest zugehalten wird (Deutsches Reichs-Gebrauchsmuster von Hauptner, Schlagstempel "D.R.G.M."). Das Glas trägt die schwarze Aufschrift "Tannoform besond. z. innerl. Gebrauch".
Tannoformstreupulver, löslich in absolutem Alkohol, aber nicht in Wasser wird durch Einwirkung von Formaldehyd auf Gerbsäure gewonnen. Die Firma "E. Merck Chemische Fabrik DARMSTADT" warb 1911 für das von ihnen hergestellte Produkt mit "Tannoform Streupulver gegen Schweiß-Geruch".
