Die kastenförmige Truhe mit einfacher stilisierter Malerei wurde wohl als Verlobungs- oder Hochzeitstruhe verschenkt. Hochzeitstruhen dienten vorrangig zur Aufbeahrung der Aussteuer. Auf der Frontseite steht in einem mit der Jahresangabe versehenen Spruchband "Im Himmel ist nach blatz führ mich und meinen Schatz 1861".
