Description

A 19th century dagger/knife with a short blade and a smooth longer wooden handle, which is an indicator of age and consistent use, before its collection. In the absence of suggestive special features such as carvings and design, the origin of this dagger to a particular (African) ethnic group is difficult to trace.

The collector and the exact circumstances of acquisition remain unclear so far (processing status: 2023). Due to the presumed colonial context of the collection, the object is still to be classified as sensitive.

Material/Technique

Wood, Iron

22,2 cm x 2 cm x 2,2 cm
